Chyna is a wonderful dog that was returned to NERR&R due to unfortunate circumstances that affected her owners’ ability to keep her as their pet.

Big, vocal, smart, playful and testy. These are a few words that may describe Chyna but there is so much more to this dog.

Chyna is 100% housebroken and crate trained. She takes treats gently and loves to be the center of attention. You have to be careful where you sit because Chyna may try to climb on your lap and at almost 100 pounds it is best that she stay on the floor. She will sit or lay down on command but she would rather be sitting on you.

Play? Oh Yes!!! Chyna loves to play. She likes tennis balls, kongs, tug toys, anything that the other dogs are playing with or she likes to run around and play hide & seek. Chyna can get very vocal when playing and can get very excited, but will calm down if no one continues to play with her. 0 to 100 and back to 0 in a matter of seconds.

When play time is over, Chyna will find a comfortable place to curl up and sleep. Her crate is always open and she does chose to nap in her crate from time to time. At night she will go into her crate on demand and there is no fuss. In the morning we let her out of her crate, it takes her a few seconds to wake up and then zzzzzing!!! She’s all energy and ready for breakfast.

Chyna dines twice a day. She loves mealtime but is fairly well behaved and will sit and only approach her food dish when told “OK”. She eats slowly to savor every morsel. After she is done eating, Chyna gets a drink of water then walks to the front door to be let out. Chyna pulls a little bit on the leash when taken out. She likes to sniff toward the birds & squirrels and would probably make a snack of the yard critters if given a chance.

Indoors Chyna is not at all destructive and does not mark.

General maintenance with Chyna requires firm handling and a few treats. She is a bit of a handful when trimming her nails or cleaning her ears. Although she grumbles, she does submit to firm handling and a re-assuring tone of voice. A few treats also help the grooming go a little smoother. When finished having her nails or ears done, Chyna gets very lovey and playful.

Chyna lives with a 9 year old female Rottie and a 5 year old male Rottie. From day one, Chyna has been the low dog in the pack and does not challenge for a higher ranking. She plays well with the other dogs but leaves them alone if they do not want to play.

Are you experienced Rottie owner that is looking for an energetic, intellectual Rottweiler? Please consider Chyna.
