What can I say? Ludo in latin means to Play. And that sums it up for Ludo. He loves to play. He can still muster up a full game of tug or keep away even after a nice long walk. He literally bounces off the walls with energy and excitement. He loves to play fetch, chase, tug, wrestle, did I say play? He loves to hike and pester his foster sister.
He's also a thief! He will run around stealing the other dogs toys, treats, and anything the other dog might have in their mouth. Sometimes so much that he gets put in his place for his rude behavior.
He also LOVES food! He's a tall boy who's nose conveniently touches the top of all counters and tables. And he will counter surf and steal food any chance he gets. It doesn't take him long to steal a slice of bread off of the counter, turn your back for a second and expect that toast to be long gone. So during meal time he gets a treat in his crate. He certainly is improving but he just can't help himself. The reward of stealing is so worth it.
He loves his Kong. He will tap dance when it's being stuffed, even if he has to wait until it is frozen. He will sit, and dance in hopes of getting a super yummy treat out of that big red wobbly thing. He also dances for his meals. He bounces up and down as if that will speed things up in his favor. He happily runs into his crate at full speed ahead to get his breakfast, dinner and snacks.
He can be pushy at times but learns quickly that pushy doesn't get him anywhere. And is certainly a very rude dude. But his rudeness is always playful. He certainly loves a good belly rub.
He's a big leaner and loves to snuggle, but playtime is more fun. He would love to play frisbee all day long if given the opportunity. He would be wonderful at agility, tracking, dock dogs or any fun doggie sport. He is eager to learn and needs an outlet for the great energy he harbors inside of himself. Without proper exercise and mental stimulation this boy gets into trouble quite easily. But who can blame him with all the fun things life has to offer.
Ludo will need an active home as he has a lot of energy to burn. More than the average rottweiler. He needs at least an hour walk daily, sometimes more.
Ludo is living up life in Southern Maine.
