Belvidere (AHS #87714)
Mr. Belvidere spent the holidays, last Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve in the shelter trying to stay positive. It puzzles us how this handsome young man with his charming manners has not been reclaimed, but Belvidere has become a kennel favorite. This 4 year-old Rottie-shepherd mix sits on command to accept a treat most gently. He is easy to walk and while he is interested in exploring the grounds he missed seeing for several months, he demonstrates good leash manners. Our young man may gobble his meal quickly, but he offers to share his bounty with all. Optimistic, and willing to play with my toys, Belvidere showed no interest in chewing on a rawhide bone. He is really just interested in meeting his “forever” family and living the life all dogs deserve.

Candace (AHS #83465)
A kennel favorite, Candace has much to offer her “forever” family. Our pretty, 2 year-old pure-bred Rottweiler girl sports a natural or European tail seen in all the well-bred Rotties in Germany since a 1999 edict made tail-docking illegal there. This elegant companion has the finest leash manners we have come across in years, and yet she still found herself lost and alone!! Candace is intelligent and easy to love. She just requires a moment to warm up. You realize that she has been disappointed in the past, and wants a committed, adult relationship now. Once you satisfy her that you are not just another gigolo interested in her beauty, Candi will then sit on command and accepts her treats very gently. If you are that special Rottie lover who can unlock her big heart and offer her the life all dogs deserve, Candace will repay you with unconditional love you have only imagined. Stop by to see if you share a connection today!.

Lydia
Lydia is about 3 years old and came from Texas. She had a rough life in Texas, she came in with an embedded collar and shows a scar from that past life. She is happy to be in NY with her foster family but she really deserves a permaent home to call her own. Lydia is a typical dominant female and gets along with other dogs if they will let her be boss. It took about a month but Lydia is now housebroken and we trust her in the house when we leave for shorter periods of time 4 hours or so. She has never been destructive when left in the house. Lydia is also fine in her crate. She loves peanut butter kongs, marrow bones, car rides, walks, chasing her toys when thrown across the room and just to be with you once she trusts you. She does growl when meeting some new people but over a bit of time and with treats and kindness you will gain her trust. Once you gain that trust she is such a devoted, loving companion. She sleeps great at night in my bedroom and doesn't make a peep until she hears you get up, or toss and turn. Lydia has learned to sit and wait till we say ok to eat her meals. No children who would be living with Lydia at this time. If you have prior dominant dog experience and have a home that is not chaotic Lydia maybe a great fit for you. Lydia would make a loving companion for the right family. Lydia is in the Capital District of New York. Local applicants are encouraged to apply.

Kenya
Hello! I am such a sweet girl and am one of the favorites here at the MSPCA because I am so calm, nice and loving.
I was brought to the MSPCA because my owners were moving and could not find a pet-friendly apartment. I am so very sad that they had to give me up, but I am excited to find a new family to spend the rest of my life with. I am the ultimate couch potato and would make a wonderful movie-watching, popcorn eating friend for anyone that doesn't mind sharing the couch (and the popcorn!). I do enjoy walking and being outside too. However, I am an older girl (8 yo spayed) who certainly can't walk as long as I used to (this never gets in the way of my spirits, though!).
You should come meet me! I am worth it!

Bramble
Lovely Bramble is a spectacular rottweiler who come in "officially" as a stray, but any volunteer who has spent time with him can identify the unmistakable temper of a former pet within seconds of walking Bramble. First off, he's quite a needy little guy- and I mean that in the best, cutest way. Bramble desperately wants your company, and he doesn't care much about what you are doing as long as you are around him. Secondly, he loves comfort- the fluffiest blanket, the warmest towels. Its a joy to see him sink down into a cozily made bed. Thirdly, he's a happy dog, not at all skittish or afraid of new people. Who can resist those sweet melting brown eye, and that ever so thin white stripe down his chest? What a catch he is! Bramble is estimated to be about 5 years old and weighs 63 pounds; Bramble is wonderful to hang out with, he enjoys the connection and is just a really good boy; we want to see him thrive in a 4ever loving and responsible home who deserves him, this time. please help Bramble realize the dream of a second chance.
Bramble has an excellent evaluation, and is in foster care with two ogher dogs. He shares his toys and food, and loves affection. He probably should not live with cats. Kids over 8. Bramble is in the Capital District of New York. Local applicants are encouraged to apply

Phoenix
Phoenix's story is truly a sad one. Phoenix was brought to us one morning
in horrible condition, clearly coming from an abuse situation. A chain
was completely embedded in his neck, causing extreme pain, discomfort,
and bleeding. Not only was his neck raw and bleeding, he was very
emaciated, his ribs were showing and he could barely even hold himself
up. That morning we rushed him to the vet, after a few surgeries and
almost a months stay, he has returned to us in great condition. Even
after all of the horrible abuse that he has endured, Phoenix is the most
loving dog. His personality is as sweet as they come. His favorite thing
to do is to just sit next to you and get his ears rubbed. Phoenix has
never been shown the definition of love or family. Please consider
Phoenix as a new addition to your household.

Sid
Let me introduce myself. My name is Sid. As you can see from my photo I'm a dog. A big dog. A big, strong dog. But don't let that scare you!I am a polite gentleman who has been taking obedience classes and if I do say so myself, I am an 'A' student! If you give me a chance I'll show you how good I am at following all those commands! Life at Paws isn't bad - plenty to eat, a nice blanket to sleep on and plenty of playtime but it's not the same as being in a home. There's nothing like a home. Couldn't you picture me just chilling out on your back porch watching the world go by. Perhaps a hot dog or a burger might fall off the grill and roll over my way! Due to my size and strength, I think I would do best in an adult-only home. I'm a pure-bred Rottweiler who is about 2-1/2 years old. I weigh in at 105 lbs (no sense trying to hide that fact!), I'm already neutered and I'm current on all my vaccines.
